    REO Solutions Inc. posted personal information and private emails from a dissatisfied customer online. This company is more concerned with personally attacking clientele than with resolving business disputes.

    We used REO Solutions as our contractor for the purchases of our 203K-financed, bank-owned, vacant home this spring/summer and would NEVER recommend REO Solutions Inc to anyone. Unfortunately, we were clueless about contractors and went with the first one suggested to us by our loan consultant, but we want to worn others of our negative experience. First of all, they insisted it would only take 2-3 weeks to complete the project. It ended up taking 2+ MONTHS. We called them early on about some shoddy plumbing work and after we noticed weeks going by with no one even showing up to work on the house. They only got back to us when I wrote online reviews and we still had to hound them to get stuff done after that. All this time they knew we had to pay for both the house and an apartment because we couldn’t move into the house until the work was done. We had issues with the plumbing, carpentry and masonry. They even stole some of our tools that we left in the house. They subcontracted everything out and the majority of the subcontractors were terrible. What’s worse is that Scott nor Shelley ever followed up on the work that was done. They were clueless about what went on it the house, and in the end TRIED CHARGING US FOR WORK WE HAD DONE OURSELVES.

    The bid seemed high, but Shelley of REO solutions said that the high cost for some things (example: $600 for hand rails) was in case some major repair needed (drywall repair for the hand rails). Therefore we expected a corrected bid at the end. When the time came, Shelley said she would only use the original bid, which we thought was an overestimate. When we told her this and showed some items that they never completes, or we did ourselves she decided to comeback with a list of extra charges. These charges included things they said they would do for free because of the shoddy plumbing, things Scott quoted us half the price of, and item we did entirely ourselves because they were not getting things done on time. By their estimates, nothing can be subtracted from a bid, only added. They are difficult to get a hold of, unless you are a potential customer (Shelley does do a good job of selling their work) and the work is VERY POOR and takes significantly longer than they say. The worst part is that neither of them ever came to see the completed work, which had some major issues, yet still insisted we pay for things they never did.
