My Mother and Father needed to update their bathroom to accommodate their aging, and medical disabilities. The job was going to be a total remodel, and would need to be totally gutted right down to the studs. The problem was that the project would leave them without a bathroom for a minimum of 8-10 days, so the project was pushed off for years.
It became more and more apparent that a tub/shower combination was no longer an option for my Dad's safety. So my Mother and I set up appointments to have contractors come in and give her estimates. In the end it wasn't just the pricing that helped make her decision, but the total feel of confidence she had with Rick himself that had her choose Rick Heberer Remodeling services. He took time to answer all of her questions, and made sure she felt confident with all of the steps that were going to happen and take place. He listened to our needs and ideas and worked with us to design a walk in shower layout with an extra wide bench area for Dad that had a hidden hamper slide inside.
Mom & Dad had a vacation scheduled that would take them out of town for 10 days, so the goal was to get this job started so they had a working bathroom before they returned. Rick put the job in his schedule, and then assisted with calls helping to set-up appointments. Mom and I were able to get the tile, flooring, counter top, cabinets, fixtures, sink and everything we needed for the remodel all picked out before their departure.
While Mom & Dad were done Rick came in with his crew and went to work. They removed a soffit, a half wall, the entire shower area, toilet and sink area, and gutted it to the studs. The floor was ripped up right down to the subfloor. In the end the plumber had installed all new fixtures including a high-rise toilet that has made such a difference for Dad's bad hips; The electrician (Sputzie Electric) came in and did new wiring, lighting fan system and a special addition of a solar light for night time lighting; A new walk in tile shower area was installed. New drywall was hung and a knock down finish was applied; New cabinets were installed, new flooring, a new bathroom door and all new molding.
I am sure I am missing items and I know this is not in the correct order, but I wanted to stress how much work was done in such a short period of time. The project wasn't quite finished when they returned but it WAS a working bathroom, and that was the biggest hurdle. A few more days of work and the project was complete!
The entire experience from beginning to end seemed so stress free! THANK YOU RICK HEBEERER for giving my parents a bathroom that is stunning and the best part is it is Senior Friendly!!
