On July 4, 2021, my home received substantial interior and exterior damage, caused by a drunk driver. I reached out to the Black Owned Business Page via Facebook social media for a general contractor, giving the benefit of doubt, several names and businesses were given, however, I decided to go with Riggs Home Improvements, LLC. I never questioned the cost, I just wanted my home fixed. After signing the contract, Juan, the owner of Riggs Home improvements, LLC received the initial certified check for $11,8 96.20, to begin work on my home on March 21,2023. After numerous lies, no calls and no shows, I filed a claim with the Burlington County Superior Court on Juan Riggins, and Riggs Home Improvements, after he failed to complete work on my home. We met in court on September 21, 2023, more than a year after he began work on my home, and Juan Riggins agreed to reimburse me for $975. 00, for a screen door in which he was paid, that I never received, and court filing fees, which totaled $1,130.84, which was to be paid on October 4, 2023. On October I0th, I reached out to Mr Riggins insurance company and also to Mr Riggins himself, and informed him that he had breeched the date of agreement, which was on 4 October, 2023. Mr Riggins came to my home later that evening (October 10th) with his business check, Check #0001, a 'STARTER' check to be exact, to pay in full, for the screen door that was paid in full, however, never received, over a year later. Juan Riggins stated to me that his secretary was out of the office. ? Juan Riggins, is SCANDALOUS. In court, on September 20th, Juan Riggins agreed that on December 1st he would come to complete the shoddy and incomplete work to my home. As of this posting, I haven't seen nor heard from him. In my original post I gave him a shout-out and praise for how he transformed my home, on FB, however, when it was near completion, I walked around my home, and noticed that over the front door wasn't completed...I guess, they didn't have enough material to finish over the door, so they just stopped midway. At the side of the garage is incomplete, nails protruding from the deck, shoddy work on the bricks alongside the wall in backyard, there's also a flaw in the workmanship somewhere over and around the front window area, which has allowed yellow jacket bees to invade my home. Juan Riggins was informed of all the discrepancies and vowed to make good of his work. Broken promises, again. The bricks are beautiful, however, when I go outside, they're lying on the side of the house or in the driveway. The address plague remains blank because Mr Riggins never placed the house numbers on the plaque. This is my Truth, and the same way I initially gave him praise, I'm here to expose Mr Riggins work ethics and that this has been an absolute nightmare. This is a ***** PUBLIC WARNING **** BE AWARE!!! ....Juan Riggins, the owner of Riggs Home Improvements, LLC is a FRAUD!!! I reached out to the Black Business Page, and gave him the benefit of the doubt. Oh, how I have been mistaken. This claim remains an open case with the Burlington County Superior Court and also will be resubmitted to the Attorney General's office, BBB and in addition, I will be contacting Channel ABC. In hindsight, I believed that I had checked everything about this business, however, had I known that Juan Riggins had only been licensed for 3 years, he would have never touched my home. I referred him also to my daughter's godmother, and he also didn't do right by her. Prior to hiring, Riggs Home Improvements there were no reviews listed nor posted on the BBB page, however, as of this posting, there are several negative reviews, basically, we're all speaking the same language. Once Mr Riggins gets paid, there are lies and no shows. I was very hesitant in posting this review, however, I have been very lenient and patient with Mr. Juan, and I want others to be aware of his business practices. We're approaching a new year, 2024, to be exact, and he should have completed my home in the summer of 2022. His license needs to be revoked until he does right by the people who trusted him to do a job in which he was paid for. Juan Riggins/ Riggs Home Improvements received almost $40,000 from me. I will execute all remedies to seek justice for what I paid him to do. Again, this is my TRUTH, of what I have endured with this company. He started out doing an amazing job, but after getting those certified checks, the lies, no calls and no shows began, and ALL COMMUNICATION Has CEASED !! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE ELSE!!
