One of the WORST experiences in my life.
From BuildBlocks recommendation, I hired Rob Klob Designs LLC in July 2018 to draw up a new relatively simple L shaped house for my mother and I. We were in a rush and he offered “to go as fast as we wanted to go” so I was willing to pay more than average for a professional to complete this in a timely manner. To be brief he told me I would be pouring my foundation in December then it became January then February and finally March was promised, It’s a good thing I didn't order materials when he told me to. He didn't even submit the plans to the county until March 13th. Come to find out from the county, he didn't submit everything needed in the plans. The county rejected the permit the first time on April 2nd, on the 11th he said he was taking care of it. After waiting 10 WEEKS I decided to check in with the county and see what's going on, needless to say, nothing was sent in. When I confronted Rob about it on June 6th he sent the documents the next morning, then to no avail, they were rejected again for not providing the correct details. I haven’t seen the final building plans but I did see the site plan which also wasn’t done correctly. My contract was for 12,000$ and I’m paid in full minus the 5% cash discount he offers in the contract. It’s now July 2019, I had to cancel my permit since it wasn't getting approved and I ran out of time. I also can’t use any of the documents since they are not correct and to top it off Rob is going to put a lien on my disabled elderly mother's property for what I don’t know.Think twice before you hire Rob.
He doesn't have an active LLC.
He’s not registered on AZ Technical board.
He’s not registered with the AZ ROC.
This has been an absolute nightmare. -

I would NEVER recommend Robert Klob Designs! My husband and I contracted Robert Klob back in October of 2013. We have yet to receive final plans that have been approved by the city. His customer service it terrible. He does not return phone calls or e-mails for weeks at a time. Always has excuses, and is completely unprofessional. We have paid him over $20,000 and have nothing to show for it. After telling him we wanted to cancel our contract last week, this was his response..".upon receipt of an indemnification agreement I can make arrangements to have the city red lines delivered to you next week. However, I don't release cad files under any circumstances." Our contract clearly stated we were to receive our cad files. He's threatening us, two years into this project! We are frustrated and angry. We feel extremely stupid. Please do your homework before you think about hiring Robert Klob!
We signed a custom home design agreement back in 10/2017 with Robert Klob Design, He promised 6-8 months for plans to be ready. After several demand letters from our attorney and filing several complaints with AIBD & Arizona Attorney General, The plans were completed after 2 years and 4 months! And the initial plans failed the City reviews 4 times and we had to pay an additional $4868 to get them through. My next project will use pre-existing plans and not go through this hassle!
