Redo portion of driveway approximately 15” by two car wide

Robert Stokes contracted to repair an area approximately 15” width of a two car driveway. No problem. He would take care of it immediately if we taped an envelope with a check for $1,000 to a door for him. This was a very lot of money for us. We have a Food Pantry that is held at a Lutheran Church on Route 73 in Berlin, NJ. We survive on donations and help from the Food Bank Of South Jersey. The drive was cut because we obtained a grant to put in a shed for food storage. We feed approximately one hundred fifty people a week.
Mr. Stokes went to Home Depot and bought a few bags of blacktop that he dumped in the hole. It never hardened and continued to sink all winter. He assured me he would fix it when he returned home from his winter in Florida.
He did not fix it and won’t return my calls. We would like half of our money back. We are trying our hardest to help people have a better life. He took our money to do that. Don’t trust him. He is evil if he is willing to take the food out of peoples mouths.

I have used Robert to seal my driveway about five times in the past ten years or so. I am pleased with his work. He is responsive, reliable and arrives on time. Sealcoating lasts only a year or two but based upon my extensive research that is in line with other's experience with big box retail DIY applications. I always fill cracks myself prior to sealcoating as they need time to dry in advance.

    Seal Coat Driveway
    $250
    1 day

I never do business with drive-by tradesmen, but I went against my better judgment and had Robert Stokes seal my driveway. He gave me some sob story about his wife having cancer and I felt sorry for him. What a mistake! He promised he would fill in the cracks. Not only was this not done, but he sprayed some kind of glossy black substance that is very slippery when wet. I shudder to think how slippery it will be when it freezes. Learn from my mistake...caveat emptor.

I am completely disappointed with the driveway sealing job performed by Robert Stokes last Fall 2013. It looked like it was freshly spraypainted with high gloss black spray paint, and it is dangerously slippery when wet and "lawsuit slippery" when covered with even a little bit of snow. I've called and left multiple messages (and did not even say I had a problem or complaint) just saying I had some questions, and he wil not bother returning my calls. He has ruined his reputation with me and my neighbors and none of us will use him again. I look forward to the next time he comes around looking for business so I can send him on his way!

Robert Stokes apprroached me at my home and offered to sealcoat my driveway for $250. He stated that he would fill in all the cracks and that "it will look beautiful when I'm done". I called Robert to tell him that the cracks had not been filled. I could tell he simply sprayed over them, when the correct way to apply the product is to roll it. In fact, there was a small amount of moss that he just sprayed right over. When I called Robert, he was busy screaming at someone when he answered the phone, couldn't remember who I was or where my home was and said he "make a notation" about my concerns and swing by during the following week to look at my driveway again. He also stated that he "couldn't guarantee the cracks would be filled in"....not what he promised. I knew he had no intention of coming back. I have not seen or heard from him since and I am extremely dissapointed with both the quality of his work and the level of professionalism with which he handles his business. Oddly, he had no problem cashing my check! I feel totally ripped off.
