I hired Dakota Ball with Sailfish Generators 11/2024 to install a Kohler generator. He finished the install 02/2025 and said a tech had tested it. Unfortunately, I paid him. Upon returning home, we found it was turned off. Mr Ball was very unresponsive. When I got a response, it was excuses and false claims. He finally came to look at the generator and determined it was the control panel. He said ants may have damaged it (in less than 8hrs after testing. Later claiming it might be bugs from being in garage, meaning he didn't ever test, as claimed ) He repeatedly said he would registered the unit but failed to ever produce proof and Kohler had no record. He claimed to be waiting in Kohler for part he ordered but again failed to produce any documentation of the order. A Kohler exec stated there was no backorder on the part. I ended up hiring a true certified Kohler installer. The tech found the unit had never been started and the control panel damage was from a bad install. They registered the unit, filed a warranty claim, and repaired it quite quickly. Dakota Ball appears friendly and professional but that's how scammers operate.
