    Siding and painting.

I didn't hire Adolfo Sanchez through this site but I felt that those considering hiring him should know about my experience. I hired Adolfo to replace the siding on the South side of my house with Hardie board and paint my house & shed. When he gave me the estimate he said he didn't know what was under the old siding but if it needed plywood it would be included in the cost. The first day Adolfo was not there, just his men. I went out a few times to see how things were going. I asked if they had put plywood under the siding. One of the workers told me & by gesture showed me that there was plywood under the left & right sides but not under the middle portion. I told him that Adolfo said if there was not plywood underneath the siding he would put it in. The guy said no and said that was why they were in a hurry to get the siding up. Also, when they took the old siding off I saw that at least one piece of plywood had rotted. That night, I sent a text to Adolfo advising him of that & also told him I would be gone from 12 to 5 the next day. When he & his men showed up to paint, I asked him if he got the text because he hadn't responded. He stated he didn't get the text. My phone shows text conversations and it went to the right number and was added to our prior conversation. When I brought up the plywood issue, he said there had been no plywood on top but they had put some in. I told him what the guy said and showed me and he said that wasn't correct. Since he wasn't here, I don't know how he knew this. Also, when I went outside to see how they were doing, I saw their tools & the Hardie board but no plywood all of which lead me to believe he lied. As to the painting: Even though I told Adolfo I would be leaving around 12, when I went to leave one of his men told me I couldn't go out that way because the door was taped off & they were painting the porch. He said I needed to go out the slider in back. I told him I couldn't because of my alarm system. The guy said to give him 15 minutes to finish. I told him I couldn't & that I had told Adolfo I would be leaving about this time. At that point Adollfo came & cut an opening barely big enough for me to get out. When I got back they were still painting. When they finished it was after 7 & the light was not very good. I looked everything over & pointed out what I could see that needed to be fixed. When I went around the second time some of it was still not done so he said he would do it himself. I also pointed out the paint they had gotten on the window in my door. He said he would come out the next day to remove it with a razor blade. He didn't. When I went out the next day to check the paint job in better light, I saw how sloppily it was done for a supposedly professional painter. They hadn't taped off the windows properly so there was paint on parts of the windows that should not have been there. The worst was a spot on a downspout I pointed out 3 times and the downspout on the shed was half painted. I sent him pictures of these things but he did not respond. There is more about the disrespect to my property but I am out of room.
