I worked for this company, I took pride in my work as I am a general contractor with 20+ yrs experiance, these people are dishonest disrespectful and a disgrace to the construction industry as a whole! They trample the good employees and take advantage of the loyal and deserving customer as well as the employees. I can’t say one good thing about this company! Not even one! This company is disheartening! I hate that I gave them and wasted years of my life to this company! I recommend they be shut down, I recommend hire ANYONE BUT SANDS!! And don’t waste your valuable time to try to work here!

Sands Realty Group lacks integrity, quality and attention to detail when building homes. My original move in date was 6-8 months after my deposit. I couldn’t move in until 18 months after my deposit.
Interest rates increased from 3.5% to 7.5% adding $530 a month to my monthly mortgage payment resulting in almost $200K added to the life of my loan. Their people tell you what you want to hear and only sometimes follow through. The 60 day checklist I submitted is 50% complete after 6 months. There are 2 of 6 items on an addendum that were to be complete within 30 days of the closing, still incomplete. I had 5 different Sands employees supervising the completion of my home during the 18 month period. The person now responsible to complete the checklist has been reassigned. I would not recommend building a home with Sands Realty Group.

I agree with all of the negative reviews posted. I had Sands fix what was wrong with my home and sold it. The are liars and cheaters. They watered down the McCormick paint. Everything they used was low grade, inferior. The windows stuck. The porch steps were crooked. The porch railings were installed improperly and were not the same size. There were no screens on the windows because the one of the partners of Sands did not like the look of screens. There were no gutters. The HVAC was installed improperly. I got tired of fighting. I made them fix what was wrong and sold it.

Pathetic. We currently own a home built by Sands in the Market Common. We love the area and our great neighbors. Nearly 2 years ago, we decided to upgrade and have a new, larger home built by Sands. They are rude, dishonest, disrespectful, incompetent, corrupt, greedy and lacking any morals. We were so close to completing but noticed after months of mentioning that the windows were dirty, that the windows were actually defective. The seal was broken on almost every window. We chatted with a couple of neighbors and found out that Sands knew about this defect all along and repeatedly tried to hide it from us. They are liars. I wish I could say it was 1 person who purposefully misled us or treated us less than kindly, but it's the majority of employees. I see on social media where they continually pat themselves on the back and leave great reviews about themselves to boost their public image. I've tried to resolve these issues within the company but I'm telling you, these people DO NOT CARE. I don't know what happened. Our first experience was not perfect, but it was not like this. How is the city continuing to give them building permits? So disappointed.

This is the worst company. Sloppy, not talented, under staffed and no professionalism. They absolute ignored me for months. I cannot get my cars into the garage due to the sharp pitch of the driveway. I had to build a wooden ramp over a year ago. If they think their too big to be held accountable, they can tell that to the judge. There are so many other reputable builkding companies out there, take pass on this one.

purchased a home, built by Sands

After dealing with Sands, I would not recommend them to anyone. They do lousy work, my garage is over a foot smaller then the plans show, and I have repaired more issues then they have, because I can't wait forever to get them here. It is time to talk to a lawyer, rather then waste time talking to them. Do not buy a home built by Sands. zero stars for them.

Purchase a townhome from Dock Street at the Market Common. No choice of builder.

After purchasing a townhome from these people I would not let them build a doghouse for me in the future. Shoddy workmanship, walls out of plumb and square, subfloors not fastened off correctly that squeak and move cracking ceramic tile floors, terrible trim carpentry work, one thin coat of cheap paint on all wall and trim surfaces inside and out, shoddy roof installations with poor flashing and vent boots and drip edges and starter courses missing. Just crap and it makes you wonder if the inspectors for the city of Myrtle Beach have any idea how to do their jobs. How could any of this pass inspection.

    build a home

I would have a very hard time recommending SBG, Inc. to anyone. From the selection of the fit and finishes for our home there was a constant hassle. The sales people for Sweetgrass West were the people who had to show you the model homes & available lots, work with you for any and all "upgrades" while answering the phone and greeting interested people who wanted to see the model homes. The process was the longest most stressing experience I've ever had when purchasing a home. There were several upgrades that we would like to have had but because of all of the interruptions we missed out on them. Then if you change your mind on an item you are charged $250 along with the price for the up/downgrade. I would like to have a dollar for every time I heard "we are not custom builders" or "you can do whatever you like after you settle." And we totally get that they are not custom builders in this community. However what I don't get is how there are many items such as screens or gutters that should come with the house, but not with this builder. You are charged $140 to up grade your light switches from an old time switch that was used in the 80's to the more modern "rocker" switches of the 21st century. Screens are $15 each and the list goes on. The real kicker is how the subcontractors and workers are allowed to trash your "newly built" home. Paint on the carpets, extremely rough woodwork that wasn't sanded so when you go to clean your tear up your rags, missing trim work, crackling squeaking wood stairs (this is a huge upgrade), paint on the hardwood floors, the use of lowest grade paint that is horrible to wash, trash all over the construction sites, wasted materials-such as trim, lumber, screws, nails, etc-holes in your roof from where the scaffling was nailed when the siding was put on. (you find out about the holes when it rains and you have leaks inside your house), music blaring from the workers for hours, beer bottles left in the houses being built.....The list goes on. I'm sorry I think a lot of the overpriced items that you pay for is to compensate for all of the materials wasted.
Yes, you get the opportunity to have items fixed a few times before a year is up, but this doesn't compensate for hassle that you go through.
