Experience was not a good one. He came to close off my wall and left the job with cracks and seems still showing. I called to have it fixed and still hasn’t been completed over a year ago.

I hired Steve in September 2018. The project started on October 8th. The main tasks of the project/remodel: texturize all ceilings, install recessed lighting, remove all old flooring, install vinyl floor throughout the house, remove a partial wall, paint interior, remove and paint kitchen old cabinets, paint and install some new kitchen cabinets, subway tile for backsplash and natural stone tile over red brick fire place. Steve had two employees. Jason, a friend from high school, and Jason's 23 year-old niece, Sonora.
Job was completed in January 19, 2019. Main problems with the remodel:
1. Steve selected low end kitchen cabinets from Home Depot, (which even Ken, who Steve hired, said were shitty cabinets), were painted and installed by his crew. The drawers stick and don't track properly. I have to move them to the right and left to get them to open and shut. They also removed, painted and re-installed old cabinets and drawers. They don't track either.
2. My pantry doors come off the track.
3. The paint on the cabinets need touch up. The brush lines are visible.
4. The subway tile/backsplash was cut with a dull blade and the edges are not flush. The grout has gaps.
5. The natural stone tile over the fireplace is only meant to be horizontal. It was placed on both the fireplace front and on the base. Which means, it can't be knelt on due to sharp edges of stone, or stood on due to cracking.
6. Paint speckles were all over my floor when it was completed. Which Steve and his girlfriend, Diana, cleaned up. Even Steve was annoyed at all the paint his crew left.
7. My new floor incurred scratches from his crew moving equipment and appliances.
8. My over the oven microwave was installed 18" over my oven. The proper distance is 30". No wonder the microwave handle gets too hot when I try to open it when items are cooking on the stove.
9. Painted cabinet drawer has lines of paint.
I'm filing a complaint with CSLB. I wouldn't recommend this business for any major contract work. The website professes 20 years as a contractor. A doctor or lawyer can have 20 years in their profession, but it doesn't mean they are any good.
