We got 3 bids to re-roof our house. We chose Paul Schick because he was local, his price was good and, most importantly, he displayed an attitude that he would do whatever he had to do to make sure we were happy with his roof. We were not disappointed. The work was done efficiently. The workers cleaned up well. The roof looks good and we have not had any leaks or problems with it.
However, the job did not go as smoothly as Paul had planned. When the new shingles were delivered to the site, the heavy truck drove off our driveway onto the lawn, breaking the concrete driveway in 4 places. Although Paul was not responsible for the damage, he took charge of the problem. He got the shingle supplier to agree to pay for the repair and he lined up an experienced concrete contractor to do the work. Paul also suggested I withhold the cost of the driveway repair from my payment for the roof until the repair was complete to my satisfaction. In the end, I used a different contractor to do the concrete work, but I got a half-new driveway, the shingle supplier paid the bill and Paul got his money in full.
Although the job ended up being much bigger than any of us expected, I would be happy to use Paul again and I would be happy to recommend him to anyone who needs a new roof.
