We cancelled our contract with Seattle Metro Construction Co LLC and Aaron Eli the project manager/owner to pour a new cement wall to bond with the existing foundation wall of our 1936 home in order to prevent leakage in the basement during nonstop winter rain. We knew that we would have to forfeit our 30% down payment as specified in the contract if we cancelled. But, after five and a half months of waiting for the project to begin, the request for an additional $1000 that we did not agree to pay, and failure to call us when he said he would while our confidence was waning, we lost complete confidence in the company and in the planned project as well. We understood that the time getting permits can be lengthy, but we believe that some fault lies with the project manager. It was a relief to finally cancel with Seattle Metro Construction Co LLC and hire a company that we are very happy and confident with and was able to complete the work efficiently in a reasonable amount of time.
