Incompetent and arrogant. I highly recommend staying away from this contractor. Both owners (mother and son) are clueless on how to manage a project, relate to a client and provide solutions for your remodeling project. After 6 months of planning, drawing and paying them way too much money in preparation for a mid-size project we realized we had to fire them. They refused to communicate in writing, except for their vague contract, and then change things verbally always to their advantage. It got to the point of being personally offensive towards us at any questions we asked. We even ended up having to pay them for a drawing that was totally wrong and not certified. We hired a new contractor and have a beautiful addition now. So thankful we fired Seawood Homes. Stay away!

We made the mistake of being drawn in by reasonable prices for an addition that fit our needs. The owner is difficult to communicate with, and when issues are brought to her attention, she is very dismissive. Nothing is her fault. Fast forward 10 years, and the pressure treated timbers used under our two-story addition have completely disintegrated. Had we not noticed the addition pulling away from the original structure by way of a large crack extending up the entire staircase, our structure would have collapsed. Her insurance company "did an investigation", without contacting us or visiting the site, and deemed her not at fault. She used the wrong materials, with no sill plate between the wood and concrete footers. Therefore water seeped into the timbers and destroyed them. Oddly, our local jurisdiction signed off on the faulty plans and approved the build all the way through. We hired a soil engineeer, a structural engineer, and a new builder to fix the issue, at great expense. Please don't make the same mistake we did.
