HOME WARRANTY JOB, HOW DOES A COMPANY LIKE THIS STAY IN BUSINESS, I CAN'T SAY HOW THEIR WORK WAS, BECAUSE THEY NEVER CALLED BACK. ASKED WARRANTY COMPANY TO DROP THEM BECAUSE IT WAS MAKING THEM LOOK BAD !

The techician was rude! Seemed uninterested in finding a solution to our problem. He grumbled about even the thought of being expected to look in the attic to ascertain the source of the problem...home warranty company of course denied coverage.

Warning, do not use this company! The service tech waited days to submit our report to the home warranty company. When they got the authorization, after multiple phone calls from us and Old Republic, they would schedule the repair until the next day. This wouldn't be an issue, however, they waited days to submit the report. They lack accountability and don't care about their customers, period. Please do yourself a favor and work with another company.

Dan from Sensible Air did an awesome job for me! I needed two new ac units and I had called three other places and Dan came in over $1000 less than these other places. He was honest, kept his appointments, and got my units done on short notice. I haven;t had any issues and would recommend Sensible Air and Dan to anyone. Mine wasn;t thru a home warranty company so maybe they have something to do with these other reviews and the headaches. I just know Dan got it done for me. Thanks Dan. Aaron

I had Dan from sensible air come out and replace two a/c units for me. He kept his appointments and didnt flake, got me great ac units for over a thousand less than three other places I called, and got them installed quickly and correctly. Dan was honest and polite, and knew what he was doing. Im not sure about these other reviews, I know I didnt have a home warranty company involved so maybe they make it harder? Either way Sensible Air and Dan came thru for me. I would recommend him to anyone. Thanks Dan. Aaron

My mom and Dad are elderly and on a fixed budget. I contacted Dan and explained to them their AC problems. It was a problem because of their budget and because of the extreme temps in Phoenix in the summer. Dan came to the house and was kind, patient and went out of his way to find the problem with thier unit. Dan even called me in the weeks following his visit to make sure mom and dad were ok. He was very reasonable in price. I called another local contractor and had them take a look at the same unit and give me their impression of the problem. That company quoted me $1,500 to fix the problem. Dan was able to fix the unit for $350 and didnt have to replace all of the electrical stuff I was told by the other company. I highly recommended Dan and Sensible Heating and Air!

EXCELLENT for my house and my rental. We too received information about Dan through my Home Warranty Company. First of the all the home warranty people is the only poeple I had a problem with. They sent me Dan, a life saver. Sure we went a few days this summer without AC but Dan was tenatious and went out of his way to help us. I have used him now on three properties, two in Tempe and one in Chandler. On my house the unit was old and had to have the compressor replaced, he did it the same day. Later we found out it wasnt the compressor it was something wrong with the unit itself that caused the compressors to keep burning up in no time flat. I tried in vien to get the home warranty to help us find someplace cooler to stay to no avail. Dan called me constantly to keep me and my husband informed of the progress. He worked hand in hand with the home warranty company and our patience paid off. We finally got a brand new unit in August. Dan worked tirelessly to ensure our problems with the AC would be fixed for the long haul not just a band aide fix.

I agree this is one star to many. The owner of Sensible Heating and Air, Dan came out to look at our a/c unit to evaluate the work needed and provide the information to our home warranty company. Dan was disrespectful to my husband from the moment he walked through the door. We didn't make it a big deal, so what the owner was a jerk we just wanted our air fixed. The warranty company assigned Sensible Heating and Air to do the repair to our unit and parts were ordered on Wednesday July 27th, we were told it would take 24-48 hours for our parts to come in. The parts came in on Friday and the owner refused to work on the unit until Monday morning August 1st. August first Dan and a technician showed up at our house at 9:45 and left at 12:15, and said they would be back tomorrrow. We were told our ac would be repaired on Monday, so my husband called Dan who told my husband that he did not have the time or the manpower to complete the job that day and he would be back tomorrow. We were told that it was a two person job, there were two people there. Anyway an a/c tech showed up Tuesday morning at 8:15 alone. He worked alone all day on this two person job. He spent a substantial amount of time in the attic and looked as if he were going to pass out. My husband relayed this information to our home warranty company and they contacted me. I expressed my concern about the tech and told them that I wanted my air fixed but not at the expense of this guys life - according to Sensible Heating and air it was a two person job and he was there all day alone because Dan hung him out dry. Anyway, no one listened to me. Dan did not show up until between 4:30 and 5, 8 hours after our scheduled appointment. Anyway by this point it was to late, the tech collapsed and had to be taken to the hospital. Had Dan showed up at 8 am like he was supposed to then he and the technician could have taken turns in the attic. Seems like there should be some laws in place to protect workers from owners like this. Anyway, after Dan's employee was picked up to be taken to the hospital he walked away muttering how am I supposed to get my van home - are you kidding? His employee was being taken to the hospital. Dan stayed and continued trying to repair our air, he finally told my husband that he apologized and took full responsibility for what happened, he said the tech had only been with his company for two days and he should not have let him go in the attic alone because he did not know what he was doing. Well if your employee is brand new you should be there watching him and you should not have sent one person (a brand new person) to spend the day in the attic doing a two person or more job. The job could not be completed Monday becuase there were only two people and Dan said they did not have the manpower so he sends one person to complete the job - where is the logic in that? Anyway at 10:30 Tuesday night Dan told my husband that he was leaving and would call the warranty company in the morning and ask them to have another company complete the job. Point being we still have no air. We received a call from the warranty company this morning that he was going back with some installers to complete the job. With alot of luck we may have air today. The best advice I can offer anyone is if they are ever referred to Sensible Heating and air run, we had an unbelievably terrible experience with this company.

Could not agree more with the review from the 13th by Jeanette. My only complaint about her review was that one star is one to many. (after trying to post this review with no starts I discovered I must give at least one)
Dan came out as requested by my home warranty company and before he ever got on the roof to look at the unit you could tell he wasn't going to be any fun to work with. After 3 minutes on the roof he came down and said that there was nothing wrong with the unit. Dan is the single most UNprofessional person I have ever met. I explained to Dan that I had one company that thinks the unit should be replaced and then I have him who works for the home warranty company who says there is nothing wrong with it. He responded with "I'll submit my report and we'll see which way they go, Son er I mean Sir" This guy never even entered the home yet somehow can say theres nothing wrong.
Bottom line is they work for the Home warranty company and unless the unit is completely DOA they will not do anything about. They will spend as little time on the service call as possible so they can keep getting work orders from the warranty company. They have no interests in doing any real work or fixing air conditioners.

Got this company through my home warranty company. A technician came out took freon out of my unit. The AC worked for 2 days then stopped again. Same technician replaces the fan blade. 2 hours later the AC stops cooling then the fan blade falls into the unit. I called and complained the the home warranty company, the technician and the company. I told the technician not to come back and asked the home warranty company for a new AC company.
Dan who is as far as I know the owner of Sensible called me apologized said he had been having problems with this technician and that he was now fired. Then he said he wanted to make it right and come out and fix the unit himself, since the home warranty company couldn't find another company that could come out the same day and it is over 110 degrees, I decided to let him come out to fix it, big mistake.
After being on my roof for a while he tells me that his technician shouldn't have ever touched my unit and the warranty shouldn't cover it because the compressor was not attached to the unit properly and the fan blade was not the correct one.
I find this very suspicious as there is no way the first technician could have missed these things, they are not hidden and he worked directly with the fan blade, why would he attach the wrong fan blade onto a new wrong motor?
He also said he did everything he could and it was working again. An hour later the unit dies, again. I called back Dan and this time he was very rude told me there was nothing he could do and that I should just turn off the unit. After he got on my roof and played with my unit he went from polite, apologetic and helpful to rude and very unhelpful.
I believe he is trying to save face by trying to make the problem seem like it was from a previous repair instead of from his incompetent technician.
I am now fighting with the home warranty about it and his company and in the meantime my house is unlivable during the day because of the high temperatures.

Dan came out to my home and replaced my heating unit. My Warranty company said it didn't need replacing and he disagreed. He was there one time and stayed until everything worked correctly. He was knowledgeable about the unit and and could explain things that made sense. He truly cares about his business and and his customers. I would recommend him to everyone who needs and honest and sincere serviceman.
