    House remodel

    John consistently did not meet milestones that was agreed per contract. He asked for money ahead of a schedule. Performed faulty work. I am currently working a complaint with the Constractor State Licesnse Board.

    I was a little worried about useing SBC for my kitchen, but things went better then I expected. SBC was the subcontractor for another company that managed to ruin the job from the start. John managed to take the job into his own hands, take over every aspect of the job and get it done.

    Large Backyard construction project

    I had previously posted a negative review for SBC Construction. Since the time of the original post, SBC has resolved the issues and has concluded the job. I am satisfied with the work performed.

    We used John on a couple of projects and things went OK then but now we hired him for a larger project and he is one year behind schedule and says he doesn’t have the money to finish the project because he says it is costing him more than he estimated. We are now having to hire others to finish. He is not reliable. He doesn’t honor the contract and will ask for payments before meeting milestones or delivering materials to the job site. We foolishly paid him 95 percent of the contracted price and we now are faced with only about 65 percent of the work being completed. Update: John has worked to pay us back the money he owes us and has been better at resolving outstanding issues with the project. He has made efforts to help us fix some things that needed repairs without additional charge to us. I am glad he has shown this willingness to try to make up for the problems he caused us. He does do good work.
