    Sherman quoted us $8,000 for a ground floor small 1-bedroom unit architecture drawing. And the nightmare began after he took the first $2,500 initial deposit. He overlooked our neighborhood planning code (overriding city code) and proposed building plan more than it was allowed and embarrassed us in the neighborhood meeting, we had to go to the city planning department to confirm how much we can build. He was always late to meetings, drawings updates and submission. He frequently disappeared a couple of months without any response on our texts or emails. It took 20/TWENTY months for him to finally get us approved drawing (we don't know how city planning staff approved his drawing, because we found a couple of obvious measurements mistake, probably because he had Cantonese speaking friends working on his case). Very unprofessional of him and horrible experience for us. Stay away from him.

    My friend Kenny referred me to an architect, Sherman Yan. I asked him to create and draw a floor plan for our San Francisco house on 2019, Feb 23, he asked for a total $3600 , half of which ( $1800) would be required for the security deposit . I paid with a check ( chase check # 509) and he deposited the check on 2019 Feb 25 .
    He took my check within a contract that I had requested . I attempted to contact him about , but he would not respond and seemed to disappear . On 2019 Mar 29 , he finally texted me back , I once asked for a plan or a drawing . He sent me a photo of a minimal - effort , makeshift, unprofessional , poorly noted sketch via text .
    At my urging , he promised to come see me in person , but he did not show up at all. After that , I repeatedly attempted to reach out to him by text and phone . He never responded . I think he just wanted to take my money and leave.
