I completely regret hiring this organization to finish our basement. Perhaps our 701 sqft project was too small to be considered of importance because that is exactly how I felt: unimportant. While I do not have any specific complaints about the workmanship itself (they did a reasonably good job throughout). My regret comes from the process. First, we were told (in writing) it would take between 10-12 weeks to finish the basement. The deposit check was issued on June 26, 2020 and the final check was issues on January 19, 2021: 29 1/2 WEEKS! And they didn’t seem to care. Second, they almost NEVER kept the schedule: when they said they would be at our home on X day, 9 times out of 10 they would not be. “Something came up” was the usual excuse. I had to arrange times to be at home and then work was RARELY completed.Third, I almost ALWAYS had to ask about the status of the project. Weekly I would send a text: “What’s on the schedule for this week?” Sometimes they didn’t respond for days so I had absolutely no idea what was going on, when it was going on, etc. I was ALWAYS having to track down information and I felt like they thought they were doing me a favor by keeping me in the loop on things. All in all, it was an awful experience. They RARELY took responsibility for their failures and threw their subcontractors under the bus (i.e., “contractor A said he would be there but something must have come up” or “I haven’t heard from them”) without realizing that they were the ones who hired the subcontractors to do the job that I hired them to do. I know that construction work can sometimes be tough with so many moving parts but it’s clear this organization was making things up as they went along. The headaches we endured definitely weren’t offset by exceptional quality nor price.
