My experience in getting plans drawn up for seismic upgrades was HORRIBLE. It was almost impossible to get a hold of him after I paid my initial deposit. I had to threaten to ask for a refund on multiple occasions just to get him to email me back. It took over 7 months for him to finish 2 pages of structural plans.
When I was finally able to show the plans to construction companies, one said they were strangely incomplete and parts of the design were unusual compared to what they usually see. Another company refused to even consider the project after I showed them the plans because the legalese Scott put in them "moves liability solely into [the contractor's] realm beyond what our insurer/coverage recommends."
Now I'm stuck with expensive and almost useless plans and as usual he's not responding to my calls or emails
