It was a pleasure working with the founder and owner Mr. Andy Stehr of STEHR CONCRETE. Before hiring any contractor, I highly recommend that you check the Contractors State License Board website (cslb.ca.gov) to make sure the contractor is Licensed, Bonded, and carries Workers Compensation Insurance. As a C-8 Concrete Contractor, STEHR CONCRETE checks all of these boxes.
I selected 5 contractors from the CSLB to bid on my backyard new concrete patio project. 2 contractors never called me back. 1 contractors bid was way out of line. STEHR Concrete and another contractors bid was almost identical. The difference, Andy Stehr spent more time with me explaining the complete process including how to color the new concrete. He made a color sample for me in my backyard. The color process is not like painting the concrete. It takes a skilled concrete finisher, like Andy and his crew, to get the color right. In addition, the highly skilled framing of the new patio is very important to the final product. Here are the details of the project:
1. Demolition and removal of the 1962 old concrete patio
2. Base rock, 3/8” rebar, and expert framing completed
3. 750 sq. ft of new concrete patio poured
4. 4-inch-thick concrete, 3000 psi (6-sack) mix. Quality material.
Colors:
Integral Base Color – Davis Color -- Sequoia Sand
Cast On Color Hardener – BrickForm – Smokey Beige
Cast On Color Hardener – BrickForm – Sunbaked Clay
Antique Release – BrickForm – Nutmeg
9 inch borders – BrickForm – Autumn Brown
Sealer: Pending warmer weather in the Spring
Stamp Design: BrickForm Sierra Seamless Texture
If you are looking for a skilled, friendly, and knowledgeable concrete contractor, I recommend that you give Andy at STEHR CONCRETE a call. I’ll be calling STEHR CONCRETE for all of my concrete projects in the future.
