We contacted Steve through a friend. He came over to discuss the possibility of doing some remodeling at our condo. We had dinner and put in a deposit. Things fell through and we were unable to proceed. Steve told us he was tearing the check up. A year and a half later he cashed the check throwing our bank account into disarray. We called him to ask what was going on and he was very rude and did not call back ever again. A week of trying to contact him and our mutual friend says that Steve reached out to him and was going to give him a check to give to us. It turned out to be for $300 less than we wrote it for, he now claims consultation fees. What a piece of work, no apology, no compensation for the insufficient funds fees on all the returned payments, and he’s trying to actually charge us for his time. The guy never mentioned a fee for coming over, which he could’ve done anytime while he was served dinner at our home. Beware this shady contractor.
