I hired Brendan Rogers from Stone Hill Renovations LLC to complete a master suite renovation. Overall, Brendan and his team did a great job and we had good communication throughout the project. As part of the project Brendan installed cedar siding. Brendan completed the siding, but used wood that was too small and therefore left large gaps that are very visible and you can see the white Tyvek wrap. In April 2019 I talked to Brendan about the siding issue and he promised that he would fix it. The contract we signed also stated that work was guaranteed for one year.I followed up with Brendan in mid-May 2019 and he said he would have someone come that week. No one showed up, so I contacted him again and he said someone would come later the following week. No one showed up again. I contacted him again in June 2019 and he said he would try again. No one showed up. I followed up again at the end of June and he did not respond to me at all. Since then I have been calling, emailing and texting Brendan, but he has disappeared on me. I have everything in writing - all the communications and I even gave Brendan the courtesy of letting him know that I would be filing a complaint since I haven’t heard from him in months. All he needed to do was respond to me so we could get this resolved. I was extremely friendly and patient in all of my communications with Brendan. I was only asking that Brendan uphold his agreement. It has been 6 months since I first contacted Brendan about about the issue, much longer than most clients would have waited.
In addition, after consulting an architect and two other contractors it was determined that the siding was done entirely incorrect. The incorrect length was used and therefore do not overlap the next row so the Tyvek shows through the siding. The edges of the shingles are vulnerable and water can get behind. The only way to correct the situation is to remove and replace the shingles with the correct length. However, unfortunately Stone Hill Renovations will not respond to me to correct the issue.
