    Kitchen/bath/home remodel

    I nominate Steve Soderlund of Structure II Design as the "Worst Contarctor of the Year", for both 2016 and 2017. We signed his contract in Oct 2015, he assured us our project would be done for ~ $ 95k labor and that it would take 6 months.We are now almost at two full years from signing the contract and the work is not done. We have paid him over $ 200k in labor over the last two years, but the project is not yet complete. We had to really cajole Steve and wait for 9 months after we moved back into the house before we had heat. Even with that the all of the rooms in the house are not connected up to the heating ducts. We have asked Steve to come fix/finish the things that are remaining [we have had a punch list since Jan 2017], but after asking on eight separate occasions Steve refuses to show up. He agrees to come on a given date, but then comes up with excuses not to show up [some of his excuses ... his dogs ate his pig, he has skin cancer, etc].

    Steve is a sweet talker who cannot be trusted to finish a project on time or on budget. We signed up with him for our residential remodel project two years ago. He has left numerous things, bigger and smaller, incomplete. Our heating system is still not completely connected. We have been literally pleading with him to come and finish it. He acknowledges that this is on him, but has not completed this for over 6 months. Makes related [at least 8] commitments to come on a given day and then does not. His excuses have ranged from ... his dogs ate his pig, he has skin cancer, his uncle passed away [we have no way of verifying this], and so on. It is mid boggling what this man has put me and my family through. Based on his behavior and treatment of us, Porcelanosa has informed him that he is no longer on their recommended installer list. I could go on and on but I have one simple message for everyone ... stay away from this contractor.
