I have read the previous reviews and the lower ratings were not my experience at all. Sundial was on point with professional leadership. The team that constructed our pool and maintains it is excellent! I really appreciate the dependability of this company.

Sundial pools satisfied our every need. My husband did not want a pool in our back yard, but I convinced him that we needed a plunge pool. These guys are so professional and accurate. We had a lovely experience. The pool is gorgeous and well-built. The timeframe was adhered to and we loved working with the crew! I would recommend this company for any job you might wish for

By C. D.May 30, 2022Pool and spa Construction with deck and cage
Sundial started our dig in January. We are still waiting for the deck to be paved even though they told us in April that it would be done in 2 weeks. 2 neighbors have had pools completely put in that were started AFTER Sundial started ours. We should have been enjoying a Memorial Day pool party today, but instead we are staring at a pool in the backyard that we cannot use because it is completely surrounded by mud. Finish put in by Sundial was cheap pebble with grey stones rather than the pebble with blue flecks of glass we requested. Communications from company very poor. Wish these reviews had been posted before we went under contract! Very disappointed with this company.

Absolute nightmare dealing with this company. If you make the mistake of going under contract with them you had best have a lot of time on your hands to deal with the shocking lack of communication and endless excuses you'll get. Good luck. You'll need it.

Luke has been very professional and responsive through the whole process of building our dream pool! Great team and I’ve recommended two of my neighbors who are having Sundial build their pools for them! The owner has been doing commercial pools for over 20 years and transitioned to residential.. you can tell they know their stuff. Thank you Luke and the whole Sundial team!

Our hotel paid them a significant deposit for a hot tub. 8 months later they have not started on the hot tub and they will not return our calls or refund our deposit.

Sundial Pools is unprofessional, abusive, manipulative, indignant and negligent. Buyer beware.
I waited a year for Shawn Kelley to do his job. He was friendly and communicative until I signed the contract in May 2023. Then he went cold. I had the retaining wall done in July. He didn’t show up to do dirt backfill till end of September (2 months. I thought I’d be swimming by August.) During that time, he only resisted my pleas and gave excuses for delays. He let the permit expire by October (3 months), didn’t buy my pool till November (4 months and ordered wrong color). Didn’t install it till December (5 months). Gave more excuses and resistance all along the way. Never put chemicals in it or gave me pool school. Damaged my driveway and denied it. He installed the pool 1.5” below grade. Denied that too without ever coming out to verify or address the issue. He only stepped foot on my property 3 or 4 times over the entire year.
From December, he promised the concrete and electrical guys would be here “next week” repeatedly for 3 months. Concrete guys didn’t show up till March 2024 (8 months). He missed the deck permit and took four weeks to never produce the design the city requested. Denied responsibility. He didn’t get the electrician to show up till April (9 months). By the time the permit was approved in May 2024 (because I submitted the design myself, now an entire year after I signed the contract), he was resisting and making excuses for the concrete guys again: “two weeks out, another two weeks out, later this week, they’re backed up, coming next week, I don’t control their schedule,” etc, etc, etc.
On top of all that, Shawn insulted me and belittled me all along the way. He stopped speaking to me live almost immediately, and only responded to my texts with resistance and repugnant vitriol. He was like the abusive husband I was so careful not to marry. Words cannot describe the emotional toll his abuse took on me; it was the worst year of my life.
So, I gave up after a year of insolence and neglect. My pool took 5 months to appear and had been sitting in a dirt lot covered in trash and debris for another 5 months waiting for him to finish. He gaslighted me all along the way, as if I was the problem for complaining, or somehow my “difficult” personality justified his poor performance. He never apologized, never acknowledged what he put me through. He repeatedly declared he was not the general contractor for my project, so he was not responsible. I didn’t think I needed a GC since I’d hired a pool builder. I wish I had a GC to bully him back. It was a nightmare.
Surely he will respond to this review in kind because bullying, blaming and abusing me, and lying and making excuses for not doing his job is just what he does. Check BBB for more reviews. I’m not the only one.
There is no world in which taking a year to still not be finished with a fiberglass pool project is acceptable. Actually, it’s inhumane. Do not do business with him. He has no respect for the humanity of his paying customers.
