By Dave W.December 19, 2018Remodel master bathroom$85,000
I wish I didn’t have to write this review as Duraid is a nice guy who aims to please, however the quality of work is below average. In 2016, we remodeled our master bathroom from top to bottom. We have had one issue after the other between poorly laid tile in our shower to high end fixtures installed incorrectly. In fairness, he did come back (after numerous calls and months of calling him) and redo the shower floor which did not drain correctly due to his employee not sloping the tile in the direction of the drain. After his second attempt to make it correct we had even more issues as the tile was laid poorly and the grout was continually coming out in between the tiles along with varying size gaps between the tiles. Fixtures were installed incorrectly. We eventually hired another contractor to tear out the master bathroom floor and reinstall new tile for the third time. We have had no issues since. We had a plumber come because fixtures we loose and coming out of the wall. He discovered that screws were missing in fixtures (Newport Brass) and they were installed incorrectly. We would recommend going elsewhere as the quality of work simply isn’t there.

We recently used Talia Stoneworks for new countertops, extensive tile backsplashes and large format porcelain tiles on a fireplace wall. I can give them my highest recommendation. The graining on the quartzite countertops was artfully matched with minimal seams. We took several hours in the shop to thoughtfully lay out all the counters on our big slabs. So much attention to detail and expertise! These are the most beautiful countertops I have ever seen. They were carefully sealed and we were given instructions for cleaning and care. We used fairly expensive water jet marble mosaics with mother of pearl accents tile on the backsplashes (that go up to the ceiling). The layouts were perfectly aligned for balance and flawlessly installed. There were lots of tricky areas around my windows, but the pattern wraps around the 3 walls perfectly. The large format porcelain tile presented a number of challenges, but Duraid and his team made sure that everything was done RIGHT with no short cuts or compromises. Their professional ethic to have perfect preparation of the site followed by detail-oriented installation was clearly apparent. Everyone on the team from management down to the guys doing demo was courteous, friendly, helpful, respectful and competent. The gentleman who laid the tile was a true artist. They kept the work area clean and were a pleasure to have working in my home. They were wonderful with communications and I can't even think of a single area where their customer service could be improved. I would not hesitate to use them again and would highly recommend them to anyone wanting an excellent installation of tile or countertops.
