Please beware of this business and its practices before hiring. TJ Thomas Reilly is not an honest contractor. He was hired to do a remodel and addition as well as to construct a mother in law cottage. The outcome was poor at best. He quit in the middle after months of delays. His initial BID increased exponentially. The BID given for the MIL cottage we have now learned was fraudulent in that he had to have know it was far to little with knowledge that he would have to increase the price. He would gently push for a certain structure then state he could get a better rate and charge a higher rate without the added service discussed vs me buying it. On attempts for detailed cost analysis he diverts attention repeatedly without answering. For the main structure towards the end when questions raised why after 6 months there was still framing without plumbing, 1/2 electrical +more,. Also, why there were only 1-2 men at a time working, if he had more the job would likely be done when he estimated originally. (By thanksgiving and certainly before Christmas, this got pushed month by month. In March he said it will read in the middle. We had movers scheduled, flew out and discovered there was still just framing. He stated I need more money if you want it done quicker. We have hired another contractor who is shocked by the state of the home and has discovered that the inspection didn’t pass, yet he continued to move on. Another note is the people who work for him started to speak on his character and that he try’s to short cut, doesn’t pay workers as well as insurance fraud. One more beware. He is the treasurer of the Libertarian Party in McKinney. I hope someone is overseeing his work!
