We received our estimate for our Bathroom remodeling on August 25,
Our project start date was October 12, 2015 which was started on time. He also was very nice in setting us up every night to have full access to our shower and toilet. In the beginning he arrived on time and worked through- out the day which was full time, then shortly after this the amount of time fell off to about 3-5 hours a day.
Once the tub was installed and the walls where put up we mentioned the large spaces and unevenness he said his plasterer would take of this, and he contacted his plasterer to complete the walls. As the plasterer worked on the walls he placed a great deal of plaster on the walls to make them flush and we had been told that this process needs to have 2-3 days to dry. We have never heard that before and it should have only taken 2-3 hours to be dried.
During the weeks of work it was told to the contractor the issues we wanted to be addressed. The shower fixtures are not lined up correctly and he stated he would correct this issue, and then made it worse. We had also told him about the walls they are wavy and not completed correctly. They attempted for over a week or two to fix this but today is not been completed to our satisfaction.
As of 11/19/15 we contacted a plasterer to give us an estimated to fix the walls and ceiling. According to the plasterer he determined that the walls and ceiling where not put up correctly and that the contractor used small cut sections and pieced the wall and ceiling together. The seams where not finished correctly and the area around the tub bows out past the tub which will be very difficult to repair. The wall behind the toilet is not flush which this too needs to be repaired.
We advised our contractor that there was a pit in the Terestone on the tub wall and a mark in the bottom and side of the tub. We are waiting for a call back from contractor who stated he will contact Terestone directly to find out if this can be repaired. Not sure how the tub can be repaired.
We also realized that his plasterer had taken from our basement a piece of our personal sheet rock without permission that was in a room we don’t know why he was in there. But the Contractor replaced this sheet rock.
We realize some of the changes where a challenge which he did try to meet our expectations. However with the issues not being addressed or fixed we are very frustrated. As of today we still do not have our vanity or sink which from what our contractor advised us the vanity is at the supply company and he was going to get the sink in Norwood.
We have gone out of our way to work with our contractor to complete our Bathroom Remodel as he stated that we are at an impasse and that without additional payments our bathroom will not be completed.
To date we have paid $1,000.00 deposit. $3659.69 for the vanity, sink, fixtures and plumbing finish pieces. $5900.00 for the first payment, then the second payment of $6050.00 and included the tile, the third payment was to be split three ways the first of the third was paid which include the cost of the changes made to Terestone shampoo and soap holders in the wall. $1640.00 for the electrical work completed.
Plumbing has not corrected and due to the job not finished we will not pay until the work is completed to our satisfaction.
The date today is 11/27/15 we still have no vanity, bad walls, no heat in the bathroom because he left the radiator disconnected, no moldings and the plumbing leaks.
