The Kitchen Helpers were hired to measure and design a room to have IKEA cabinets installed. They didn't even make it past the first step. The measurements they attempted to make were too inaccurate to use for building cabinets. When I asked them to come remeasure they were immediately hostile. I was put in contact with the owner's wife, Jennifer Berry. She eventually did send the same person out to remeasure and I was able to immediately see why the original measurements were so terrible. The contractor didn't know how to properly hold a measuring tape, sometimes measured from the base shoe to the opposite wall, let the tape bow over obstacles, and didn't write down a single number. The contractor left before completing the remeasure because the couple of walls they looked at were "close enough" to the original measurements. I again contacted the Jennifer and asked her to send someone else. She agreed but also complained that the software they use was the problem. After only a few minutes of use (it's a free web based design software) I was able to see that the apparent "limitations" of the software were actually due to incompetence. I wrote to Jennifer with instructions on how to use the software correctly and she said "I have never been able to figure this out so I am very excited to hear about your work around for a couple of issues I seem to have with the program." and she asked for more help. I declined to offer additional help until my standing issue with them was resolved. Jennifer was offended that I would not help them more and then rescinded the offer to send the owner to remeasure (or refund me) and has ignored my follow up calls and e-mails. This is at least the second company these people have operated and I do not doubt it will fail like the first one did. They are unprofessional and incompetent; hire them at your peril.
