I'm not sure why Colquitt Construction is rated so high on this website. They built my townhome in 2006 and I, and the community have had nothing but problems ever since. Specifically, several owners have had major plumbing problems because the plumber and colquitt had a falling out during construction. The plumber retaliated by putting bottles and other debris in the pipes. Colquitt did use nail shields when installing the drywall. A drywall nail punctured one of my water pipes and, over time, rusted out causing a severe water leak in my home. Drywall, molding, and carpeting needed to be replaced. I've had to replace both air conditioning units (as have other owners), the dishwasher, and the water heater. The floors were not properly finished, so the hard wood will need to be replaced soon. In addition to the problems with my unit. The community itself has had problems. The ground below a block of units was not compacted properly, causing their foundations to crack, requiring additional support and added backfill. Currently, for $50,000, we are replacing a retaining wall that wasn't built properly, is failing, and could have led to a block of units being condemned.
