This contractor replaced rotted exterior wood trim, replaced one window and two doors, capped the wood trim on our bay windows, and painted our exterior wood trim. He used subcontractors for the window replacement, capping, and painting. The subcontractors were professional, polite, and a joy to work with. In contrast, we found the contractor to be rude, disrespectful, and insulting. As a result, we found what should have been a positive experience to instead be highly, and needlessly, unpleasant. We deeply regret that we did not realize in advance just how difficult this contractor would be to work with. If we had, we would have listened to our better judgment and saved ourselves much needless aggravation.
As noted, a significant portion of the contract involved the replacement of rotted wood trim. As the contract progressed, the contractor found a number of additional areas of wood that needed replacement. Most of those were considered “change orders” and involved an added cost. We very much would have preferred it had the contractor performed a more thorough pre-proposal inspection, and given us a more complete proposal.
Given our experience with this contractor, we fully expect that he will write a rebuttal to this review that blames everything on us. It will, most probably, be disrespectful and insulting, and will give you a flavor of what it was like to work with him. That is the primary reason why we rated him so poorly, and why we would never do business with him again.
