We have used Trost Heating and cooling, several times over the last 10 years. We have used him to work on the Church Air System (Sarasota) and also out in Myakka City at our residence. Mr Trost, Larry, has always exceeded expectations. He has even saved us thousands of dollars when another unnamed company had called my Spouse (who was recovering from a brain injury) received a cold call for a $69 air tune up, from a local (other company) the other company actually broke the air system, during their “tune up”, when my spouse told me what was going (remember we had no issues spouse, thought a tune up necessary after cold call) long story short the other company said it was mandatory to replace entire system. We called Trost Air (we had used them a few times and was very satisfied), again my spouse was not thinking clearly to have anyone else look at the system. The part broken by other company was relaxed and system was back and running perfectly again. (The system was older) but you can Trust Trost. You will not get cheated or taken. Recently the air at home stopped working and I called later in afternoon on a Friday of all times. Mr. Trost came all the way out to our home in pouring rain and fixed system. The bill was very low and no “extra expenses added to the repair bill like so many other repair companies see to do these days. We will never use another company.

Larry has been my go-to for anything HVAC. He was recommended by a colleague a few years ago and has been incredible to work with. He's professional, reliable, punctual and does exceptional work. What I appreciate most about Trost Heating and Cooling is there attention to detail. I'm not well versed in the HVAC space and Larry always takes the time to answer my questions in detail so I can have a better understanding of the work that's being done. If you want quality work and honest assessments, Larry is your guy. THANK YOU, Larry!

By Carolyn H.May 27, 2021AC Maintenance$55
I hired Larry Trost to maintain my AC units in my duplex (2 AC units), my other rental home (1 AC Unit) and a home I manage (2 AC Units) in addition to the condo I own (1 AC Unit). He is hot tempered and spews profanity if ever questioned about his services. One of my tenants told me my Ceiling Vents have water coming from them and that is connected to the drain line not being cleaned. I sent another company out and they sent me 50 photos of a filter that was filthy, coils that were filthy and disgusting, and an invoice for $3852! They said no one has serviced my AC Units in years, and now I have serious financial issues because of it! Get Ready Larry Trost!! You are responsible for fraudulent business practices and I am able to document and prove it in court. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!

A few years ago, we hired Larry Trost to install a new air conditioner. After installing it, he promised he was going to get an inspection, but never did. We had already paid in full, so we didn't have much leverage. Finally, after a dispute we hired a different company to do a yearly inspection. Today they showed us the plenum wasn't installed correctly, and it probably wouldn't have passed inspection. The metal support brace that runs under the air handler should have extended out to support the plenum, and it doesn't. The man went up into the attic to check if the plenum box was attached to the duct work mechanically and it wasn't. As the tape and mastic holding it up gets wet from usual condensation, it can make the plenum sag and pull away from the ductwork.
