I had a new sunroom built on my single family home. It was just that- but the problems have never stopped. The company is too busy for me to do the work properly it seems because they say they are on other jobs. No after hours or week end availablilty. I am a mother with 3 children... All can say is this has been a new ghost mare. I wish I had hired someone else.

I was very happy with Brian Appelbaum and the VGC staff. We had a kitchen - family room addition built. It is not only beautiful, but also extremely well built. I was particular about many features in the addition. Brian discussed every thing and he helped me make decisions. Any questions were always answered in a timely manor. We will enjoy this great room for many, many years. T May

Brian Appelbaum of Valley Grove Construction is a pleasure to work with. From the outset, his professionalism and patience made the choice to use VGC the right one for me. The renovation project included a new Master Bedroom, Closet, Master Bathroom, home insulation and assorted other (smaller) projects. Brian’s attention and appreciation for the historical value of my home (over 100 years old) was obvious, as he ensured the integrity of the materials, trim, finishes, etc….while modernizing such an older home.
On budget, on time, always available via text, email or phone, Brian went out of his way to keep me informed/updated. His team of professionals were just that, professional. I can’t say enough….if you are considering home improvement, you will be satisfied with Brian and VGC.
BTW…how many contractors do you know say what they mean and mean what they say? He and his team were always on time, always cleaned up the days work and always were respectful of the family life going on around the construction. ‘Nuff said..

I would highly recommend this company. They have performed 3 separate jobs over the past 3 years. Professional, courteous and knowledgeable in construction and building materials. They call you back! Provide detailed estimate. Craftmanship is excellent!

Brian and Valley Grove did some work for us last fall with a kitchen renovation and right off the bat things weren't professional. What was supposed to start in the summer when we were going to be away, didn't commence until the mid fall with no apologies on his end. Then there were numerous issues throughout the process and each one Brian blamed on everyone else. Even had an inspector say "it sounds like it was his fault" when our upstairs shower suddenly leaked after VGS moved a drain pipe in our kitchen. It never leaked in the 10 years we lived here, but of course it had nothing to do with his work.
Windows ordered in wrong size was blamed on manufacturer, flickering lights and fuses tripping all the time were blamed on the electrician who installed the new updated volt system over a decade ago.
We have had to move the washer and fridge both of which couldn't be accessed as they were deemed "too tight" by repairman and Brian blamed their lack of stregth or an injury.
To top things off a few months after he was finished he stopped responding to me. I wish I could rewind the clock and use one of the other contractors we interviewed but unfortunately that's not possible.
I would suggest using someone with more experience, a better attitude and the maturity to admit fault. Bottom line, I would not recommend using VGS or Brian Applebaum.
