This contractor offered to remove the heritage bricks from our home in San Jose for free for a client who was searching for a certain type of brick for her project. He gave us a contract that specified he would remove the fireplace, leaving the hole for us to patch up. This was our agreement. What he did instead, was to remove the outside bricks, leave the firebox & all internal bricks & STOLE the bricks while we were at work. He refuses to return to take away the rubbish of all the broken bricks & finish the job. We still have a fireplace, pretty much intact and left with a gaping hole that cannot be patched until we finish the job ourselves. This was NOT our agreement but unfortunately, although my fiancé signed , the contractor did not sign. This, in my opinion and the opinion of my fiancé (who is an architect) is despicable professional behaviour. I would not recommend this contractor to anyone. He is obviously trying to cut corners for his cost regardless of the trauma he causes to innocent people.
