We decided to go with a residential solar PV system on our Petaluma house. The solar company said that our main service panel was too underpowered to handle the system. PG&E said we needed to conform to newer code to upgrade our 100A panel to a 200A panel. That would require trenching and running new, larger service cable conduit and relocating our panel away from the gas meter. Gabe found a way to satisfy both parties by replacing our main service panel with a like but solar ready panel that qualified as a direct replacement (grandfathered to old code) but had extra capacity for the solar input.
At the same time, he installed a sub-panel to give us room for the mini-split AC, my air compressor, and a second EVSE for our next electric car.
The main panel and sub-panel were nicely and cleanly installed with very tidy wiring extensions to redirect the original load wires to the new sub-panel. He took care of the city permit, and the co-ordination with PG&E to shut down the power for the work, which was all done the same day.
A great, tidy, and timely job.
Everything was up and running at the end of the day, and the solar system was successfully installed and put online without a hitch. Great job guys!
I would hire him again for any future work.
