Owner
Bill Turomsha “knows everybody” in town and he will use that leverage against you if he has to. After two decades and two dozen renovations, he is the one truly bad experience we have encountered. While you could litigate and win, he knows just how far to push the line so ultimately it’s not worth the aggravation and expense. He tried to force us to use his sub contractors even though they were much more expensive. The first one was 150% more than the other three bids. We were told they were the very best. Turns out they have one of the worst reputations in their trade. We had to pay other companies to repair their work twice as they would honor no real warranty— even though the property suffered water intrusion etc. Another contractor was twice the price of three others and we were yelled at to use them, yes Mr. Turomsha thought he could bully us into it. We refused his recommendation (perhaps it was so expensive because of a kick back he would’ve received), had a great experience with the one we used instead and that began the decline of our relationship. We have since learned that he does this with other people as well. His commercial business is because of his connections at the building department, as some of those business owners we spoke to said they were significantly over charged but felt they had no choice. Fortunately, the personnel are changing at the City and there are many other contractors who are more honest, better intentioned with far more integrity.
