First of all, he never got a permit. He told us a quote and we hired him to build a porch. We kept telling him the inspector has never come by. He would say, "He will.". He told us, half up front and the rest when I'm done. Every week he was asking us for more money. He finally stopped coming to work on it. He said he was working for free. We went to the city building and got a permit. He never applied for one. He lied to us. Then we found out he doesn't even have a license! We gave him more money than the bid was that he quoted us. Don't hire him! There were boards without screws in them. The steps didn't pass inspection. We had to hire someone else to finish the job.
