I used Whitey based on the recommendation of a friend. It was a huge mistake. I had all the flooring in my condo, with the exception of the 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, replaced with laminate flooring. A "floating" floor. Which means the flooring doesn't butt up against the walls. The bathroom (not the area around the stool, separate room) was so poorly installed that every other board was popped up. Whitey had to come back, rip it out and re-do it. In the living room the flooring was almost as bad. When you walked on it the items on the display case would shake. When I spoke with him about it he told me it takes a year to settle. I didn't know any better. At the end of the year it was still the same problem. At which point he told me that I KNEW the warranty was only good for a year. He finally did come out and repair it by trimming the edges. This was several years ago. I had contacted the Attorney General's office for assistance, but was told he wasn't licensed so there was nothing they could do. (I have no idea if he has since become licensed or not.) I was unable to locate the name of his new company until recently. Apparently, if you have a very expensive job you may get better service (I did contact the 6 references he gave me), but a "small" (to him) job by a single woman who didn't know any better ... well, that was a different story. I would not recommend him to anyone, for anything.
