  Build a Front porch

  I hired Z-Man LLC to build a front porch. I told them NUMEROUS times I wanted a porch; not a deck. I even provided them with a picture of the exact design I wanted for my porch. Not once did they say they couldn't build it nor did they ever say they were going to do something different. I came home from work to find they buildt a deck; not a porch as I requested AND they built a design that looked NOTHING like the picture I provided. Their knowledge of building a porch is horrible. The amount of nails they used was ridiculous. They built the risers of the steps to be level with the treads when the treads should always come over top of the risers. It's not only bad aesthetically but also a huge concern structurally because a few years of rain and snow is going to compromise the structure. They didn't miter any of the corners. The poles they installed for the railing that would go down the sides of the steps were not even aligned with the steps. I emailed them that evening to say how dissatisfied I was but never got a reply. They next day they pulled up at the top of my yard & quickly grabbed their business sign out of my yard & sped off. They didn't have the decency to stop and discuss things or rectify the situation even though my car was in the driveway & they knew I was home. I am now out of $2300 I gave them a "2" rating only because they are friendly and didn't charge as much as a other contractors would charge. However, my experience with them regarding their building knowledge and customer service deserves a "1" rating. Very dissatisfied.
