I want to start by saying DO NOT USE THEM THEY ARE THIEVES!!
I have a home that I rented and now vacant and currently sold. The master bath is under a remodel construction and the general contractor uses them as a sub.
While they were working I had asked them to give me a bid on installing a water regulator and replacing a ball valve. The bid was $700 and when I looked at him funny he had stated "the water regulators are up to $500 because they are made of all brass." I am not a plumber and a bit to trusting so I agreed to the cost. A couple of days later he came, spent 45 min on installing the regulator, added about 2" of brass pipe and a ball valve and yes, $700.
A couple of days later my son, who is a commercial welder visited and I was telling him about the things I was having done at house. He asked about the cost of the regulator and the work and of course I shared, He just about lost him meal of course laughed at me for not checking with him and I told him "well the regulator is up to $500 because it was all brass" and he laughed harder. We went to house, looked at regulator got make and model, googled it and the cost retail was $104. Of course plumbers get it for much less. My son said the raw cost for other items they did, brass pipe and ball valve was maybe another $25.
It just so happened that I had scheduled an appointment for the same company (before I knew they grossly inflated costs) to come to my home I live in to give an estimate on a positemp valve needing to be installed in my shower. Keep in mind the removal work had already been done and I purchased the hardware. When he came over I was now skeptical but wanted to see what he (same guy) would estimate work at. He looked at it 10 seconds and stated it would be $500. Now that I knew I was being robbed I politely asked him to leave and mentioned the other work regarding the water regulator work and how he over charged by hundreds, showed him the REAL cost of the valve and he stated "we pay more than retail because we are plumbers" which of course is a lie. To put it in perspective I called another company out for work on the home I live in which was to replace water regulator, replace and put in 2 new ball valves and replace positemp valve in my shower. The total estimate for ALL the work from a licensed plumber who was recommended by my realtor was $525. So now I knew I was robbed in the amount of over $700 - $800 by 24 hour express service in Murrieta on Jefferson.
As I should have, if you call them, double check cost, labor, parts, and be very skeptical of any of their quotes.
