  redo the basement following a flood

  A& B Quality Construction Corp.
  DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. In the winter of 2023, my house sustained water damage in the basement due to a broken heating pipe. A& B Quality Construction Corp. (A & B) was on a list of suggested contractors provided by my insurance company. According to the A & B website, this was a new company, but had three purported positive reviews from 2022. Unfortunately, we decided to give them a chance.

  The work they performed was sloppy, with little or no attention to detail. By way of limited example only, our personal property was tossed about on the floor and furniture as if it were junk. Paint was splashed all over my wife’s clothes and shoes. The workers also spilled paint on the driveway.

  Painted closet doors are peeling. This started just days after the job was supposedly completed! The basement door is crooked and does not open more than three-quarters – something that was not an issue before the flood in the basement.

  To make matters worse, after removing and loading water-damaged property onto a big container (which was originally attached to a large box truck that the A & B driver employee/associate had obvious difficulty operating), the driver had a problem re-hitching the container.

  My driveway is on an incline. Due to the employee/associate’s incompetence, the container got loose, rolled down my driveway at a high rate of speed, scraping my pavers and cutting a groove into the driveway before destroying my fence (and narrowly missing my car). Fortunately, no one was hurt.

  Although the contractor did fix the fence after a long wait, A&B refuses to remediate the damaged driveway and pavers caused by the carelessness of its employee/associate. My subsequent text messages requesting driveway and paver remediation have been ignored.

  The run-away container was a preventable incident that was caused by a poorly trained employee/associate. I felt that this individual was lazy and took no interest in the task at hand. We were lucky that no one was physically injured. Several people were standing near the back of the container just seconds before the employee/associate lost control of it. Everyone saw the incident occur, including an A & B co-owner.

  Lastly, I found the co-owner that we mainly delt with to be rude and unprofessional. During and after the project, phone calls and text messages were either ignored or, responded to days later. Workers showed up (if they showed up at all) unannounced, on their own schedule, with little or no advanced notice. Unfortunately, we hired this contactor to do a quality job and we were treated as if the company were doing us a favor. A&B did not do quality work for us.

  Save yourself stress and inconvenience. Do not hire A& B Quality Construction.

  Basement reconstruction

  This company did a fantastic job reconstructing my mother's basement after she had a bad flood. Ben was extremely professional; he and his workers came through with everything that had to be done - the place looks fantastic!!

  It was a great experience with quality work. My house looked beautiful when they were done and I felt their customer service was amazing. They gave good timelines and called before arriving and generally easy to work with, which was so important to me. I would recommend to anyone with confidence. Thank you to the team that made my house lovely again!
