BUYER BEWARE. This company is a probably the worst company I have ever dealt with in my 46 years. Let me start by stating the A Cut Above Construction Services LLC was recommended to me by a well-known truss company from my home rehab project. The "president" (Dan McCarroll) was quick to get me an estimate and quick to ask for money down to frame my home, but that is where the communication stopped. On 7/14 I received a quote from Dan, we told him that we would accept his bid, but need for him to get his permit into our village in Western Springs... 3 weeks later he still did not do it.... I had to call and text him 2-3 times a day just to try and get him to respond on the permit. I was promised that the framing would start on 8/12 (weather permitting)... I shared with A Cut Above that we had another frame lined up, but Dan insisted that he would be there on the 12th... the 12th came and went with NO communication. I again had to start calling Dan 2 - 3 times a day to try and get him to pick up... and when he did, the excuses started rolling in... the weather was day (rained 1 day), I'm working for an Indian guy and they are horrible to work with, my dog ate my homework... you name it, Dan had an excuse. All along we had already torn off my roof based on Dan's "promise" that he would be at my home. Dan promised again he would be at my home on 8/19... I begged him to just be honest with me as this was directly impacting my family... but again Dan was a 'no show' with no communication. I hope others can learn from my lesson. A Cut Above Construction Services LLC has ZERO integrity. Specifically, Dan McCarroll will lie just to try and keep a job while knowing that he will not be able to do the work. If you accept a bid from this company, do not count on them showing up or effectively communicating with you... and be prepared to find a new framing company. Hopefully, you will not encounter the thousands of dollars I lost by waiting for A Cut Above Construction Services LLC to do what they promised they would do... Thankfully I did find a new framing company that has been fantastic and has made up the 3+ weeks I lost while waiting on Dan.
