  I hired Bright Choice to finish a 900 SQ FT Basement adding a bathroom a bedroom and the rest open. I was quoted 9 weeks start to finish and it took 18 weeks. I have had problems since completion in which I had to hire other contractors to fix because it was clear that if Bright Choice can't fix it the 2nd or 3rd time you just don't care about the project. The fix was with a clean out valve in one of my plumb lines which was leaking after Bright choice put it on, so I called and let them know they came out that day (Surprised usually took 3-4 days) and "fixed" it by using electrical tape instead of teflon tape. This should have been a red flag right away but I was already tired of Bright Choice's poor customer service when it came to wanting a final check before final leaks and touch painting was completed. The Sub -Contractors Bright Choice used are good which is the only reason for the star. I did not hire them though I hired BrightChoice to be a general contractor. Dealing with Bright Choice's poor project management and work quality themselves, was not worth the money. (It was the lowest quote I got) If you want to hire a project manager to get everything done and meet deadline's then I suggest you go somewhere else as this is not the business for you. If you want someone that will delay their job , have to be reminded of what basement you are and what needs to be done in your basement, and does not meet deadlines but expects payments same day as they are asked for, then this is the business for you and enjoy the headache. I also had to have him come back out a fix a tile that was miss cut around the tub spout in which he tried to cover up with caulk. Had to have the painter come back out a 3rd time to fix touch ups of over spray. Yes, the walls and ceiling are sprayed not rolled. When dealing with textured walls you should always at least have them back roll if they spray it as spray itself does not fully cover the texture. In the end I wish I would have just been the project manager and hired all sub's myself as that is pretty much all you are paying Bright Choice to do when it comes to finishing your basement. All of the work performed by Bright Choice was very poor. I would advise to avoid Bright Choice. The work finally looks good after I have hired some people to come in and fixed leaks and drywall that was damaged by leaks. The worst part is the communication you never know when people are going to show up or not and Bright Choice simply wants you to leave your basement window open 24/7 so they or whoever else can come in as they please. After all was done there was not discount offered for being 9 weeks late and poor workmanship, after arguing for a week I decide it was not worth my breath paid him full payment and am coming to the internet to hopefully help people not feel the pain I felt by hiring Bright Choice.
