It's September of 2017 and this guy refused to fix what he did. I am here to remind everyone that this guy does not back his work up. He cheats senior citizens...like me!
Please read my initial review which I still stand by.

First and foremost, get a written guarantee. In my case I should have requested at least a ten (10) year guarantee of the work from this contractor. Mr. Vaughn does not back up the work he does. In October of 2006 I hired this contractor to remodel a house we had purchased. Part of that remodel was the removal of the old floor covering and replacing it with ceramic tile. Six (6) years after the new tile had been installed it started to fail. The thin set used to adhere the tile to the cement slab of the house stopped adhering. You could hear the compound “crunch” under your feet as you walked across the tile of the house. Grout lines started cracking and tiles became loose. As the tile degraded more and more, I contacted Bruce Vaughn (lic# 501759) to see if he would stand behind his job and pay for the replacement of the tile. The tile we purchased was no longer available so the whole floor had to be replaced.
Mr. Vaughn showed up at my house with a different tile guy than did the job. This tile guy said if he would have done such a poor job, he would have taken responsibility to replace the whole floor at his cost. When the tile was removed by another contractor I hired, Bruce sent the original installer (Mack) to witness the removal. He watched as tile after tile came off of the slab with almost no effort. A putty knife was used to lift the tiles. When tile floors are put down, they stick with a vengeance if the thin set and the prep of the floor are done correctly. It can take a jack hammer device to remove old tile. This was not the case in the job that Mr. Vaughn did in my home.
You can view a video of the removal on YouTube at http://youtu.be/xtLMd_AAEi0
Tile flooring should last at least 25 years according to industry experts I have spoken with. In trying to be fair, I have made a request of Mr. Vaughn to pay for only half of the cost I spent replacing the poor job that was done in 2006. He has refused. His poor workmanship has cost me over $6,200 for a ceramic floor install that barely lasted 25% of its expected life. I made the mistake of not demanding a time frame guarantee of the work. If you are going to retain this contractor for any type of work, please don’t make the same mistake I did. Get a written guarantee or expect to spend money on re-doing their work. His insurance doesn’t cover his work, only damage from it. His contractor’s license bond cannot be claimed upon if the work fails after four (4) years. Kind of hard to utilize that if the job starts failing after that four (4) year time limit which, in my case, didn’t start until year number six (6).One more item regarding this contractor. Check his license on the Contractors State License Board web site. Make sure this person is contracting in a legal way.
Please make sure you check this contractor out completely before you hire him.
