John Abell of Combs Creek Construction is the worst contractor that you can possibly deal with. Nothing but lies and empty promises. When you try to communicate he does not respond to texts emails or calls. Does not pay his sub contractors. We hired him to build a deck provide painting and do fence work. Took our 50% deposit of over $1500 dollars and it all went down hill from there. He walked off the job at only half completion and according to the subcontractors that were doing some of the work they were never paid and came after us for the money. He is a liar a cheat and a very shady character

The experience was horrible, and 3 months later I still haven’t been serviced. I paid $4K upfront (They were only supposed to charge me half upfront, but “accidentally” charged me the full amount) for a fence to be built. For three months I got to enjoy my time texting with John to ask on a weekly basis when they were coming out to actually build the fence, and for three months I received crap responses that pretty much came down to “we’ll be there in a week”. After being lied to for like the 5th time in a row I’ve ultimately decided to just dispute this scandalous charge and look for service elsewhere.
If you want reliable work done within a reasonable amount of time, I wouldn’t suggest this contractor.
