We replaced our entire back deck with TREX decking installed by Durabuild Construction. From the beginning it appeared that some of the employees had not been left unsupervised. I could have lived with the appearance that the workers were learning as they went, but expected Heath and Durabuild to stand behind any defects. And, yes, there were items that needed to be addressed at the end of the project. This is where things started to fall apart. When things needed to be done (joints fixed, ragged board replacement, railing secured, etc) it was very, very hard to schedule the work. The few times I was able to talk to the owner, Heath's most common response was "I thought it was done." The most recent repair was to replace a railing board. It took months for the repair, but finally happened when I wasn't home. When the railing board was replaced, the existing TREX railing cap was damaged by the workman. Weeks/months of trying to get them to respond with a phone call or text have been gone in vane. The damage was reported to Heath (including pictures) on 4/5/2021. To-date not a single text message or phone message that I have left has been responded to. Of the many calls Imade, Heath finally answered and assured me that it would be resolved before Thanksgiving 2021. No one came, and my calls continue to go unanswered. For whatever it's worth, TREX replaced the damaged board, but Durabuild doesn't seem interested in standing behind their workmanship.
I hate to micro manage the work of a professional, but the Durabuild crew needs close, constant supervision - including questioning anything that doesn't seem right.
I have asked the owner (Heath Hayes) multiple times to come here and look at what needs to be done. To-date that request continues to be ignored.
I like my new deck, but will NEVER contract with Durabuild again. Make up your own mind, but always, always, buyer beware, and be vigilant.
