By Dwaine B.March 26, 2021Purchased house from them
We bought our house from them brand new in 2014. We had warranty issues within the first six months and continued to have them through the expiration of the warranty. The floors creak with almost every step, the front door is hanging crooked, the front window wouldn't lock (fixed under warranty), the wall between the garage and living room had a gap on the garage side that created a cold draft (fixed with foam under warranty). The garage door wouldn't open so their worker had to trim a piece of sheet rock out, which looks fabulous. The lawn wasn't growing so I scraped it all off to find that there was perhaps an inch of topsoil that had been laid, not to mention layers of construction garbage underneath. Now, for the first time, we tried to use the backyard hose-bib and it doesn't work. We don't actually have a backyard, just a 4' strip so we'd never tried it before. They spared every expense.

I've had so many problems with this company and the house they built... the range broke down, deck foundation sinking causing overflow/erosion, stain drips on my driveway, cracks in driveway, electrical issues, sloppy texture job and a cut patch job in the bathroom that I didn't see in the walk-thru (trashy job). The worst of it all was a leak in my bathroom because they didn't put in a wax seal for the toilet...this caused my floor to get water damage warping, plus stain drips on the wall below the bathroom, plus mold growth. All this bs has happened within the 1st year, and now I have mold inside this brand new house. Eagle Country did a cheap sloppy job and sold me something that I'm not impressed with.

Communication was an issue and even though the house built is besutiful, we have had to spend another 24,000 dollars on drainage problems on the property they sold to us.

We bought one of the homes in a new development in Machias and have had no joy in the process of buying our first home. Terrible company who took advantage of us as a young couple buying our first home. Would never ever buy a house from them again and I strongly strongly recommend nobody ever uses them. They lack attention to detail and could care less about the homeowners. There has been numerous issues including a hole in the wall by our stairs that they left, delayed closing date multiple times to put in a hand rail that basically came apart after putting any weight on it, light fixtures in guest bathroom don’t work, didn’t finish trim or flooring in some areas, and multiple paint and final touch up issues. They have no sense of urgency in fixing issues and every time we send them a list of things that they need to fix they take 3 weeks to get too and only fix one out of the ten things listed. The owner has come out multiple times and made a personal list of things that need to be fixed but yet we are still waiting on 80% of those items to be fixed or replaced. Please do not use this construction company.
