My experience with Equal Partners was a disaster. Jim represents himself as an experienced construction manager, He has a detailed legal contract that turns out is completely bogus. He does not have a valid active CA Contractors license, He has NO insurance workers comp, liability or otherwise and is in default with franchise tax board. He visited the jobsite twice over a one month period and did Zero oversite. He states in the contract he does not use subcontractors, Then when he has been paid, refuses to pay the crew that did the work claiming the are independent contractors. The entire project literally every doorway has had to be redone to hang doors as none of the walls were level or plum and all of the door ruff opening the measurements are wrong. He believes in his mind a change order is an hr delay of materials and then starts to bill time and materials for a job he is on contract for. My $9500 contract resulted in Jim invoicing me for $37,520 for the work that I have had to pay another contractor to fix. It is now a legal matter and I am suing jim for Breach or contract and misrepresentation.
