I wish I had seen the negative reviews before hiring FM Construction Crew. I hired Jose Membrano and his crew to concrete my backyard patio and to install a brick and limestone walkway. Unfortunately my experience was very disappointing.
From the beginning Jose did not follow the instructions we agreed upon. Instead of using the type of stone I requested, he substituted it with a differnet material without consulting me. When I brought my concerns to his attention , instead of tryong to resolve the issue professionally (because the customer is always right),it turned into a heated back and forth argument over the phone( him telling me he is losing money on this job).Eventually after muchfrustration he sent Walter to back to make corrections.
Even after the repairs I noticed damaged limestone had been installed in the front. At that point I decided not to contact Jose again because I didnt want to deal with another unnecessary argument..
Another issue I found unprofessional was the constant demands for payment throughtout the project,as though I was going to disappear without paying. He does not give a contract....I called him several times about that....I LEARNED my LESSONS. I found this approach disrespectful and completely unneccessary.
Jose presents himself as someone who can do everything and claims to be the best at his trade. Unfortunately my experiences was the exact opposite. Once the job began the quality of workmanship,communication and professionalism did not match the promises he made. In my opinion he came across like a snake oil saleman-great at selling the job but unable to deliver the quality and service he advertised.
This project turned into a costly learning experience for me . . I will never hire FM Construction crew or Jose Membreno again and I strongly encourage anyone considering them to do their research and proceed with caution. I hope my my experience helps someone else avoid the frustration I went through.
