    Rebuild a damaged seawall

I hired Fortress Marine Construction to rebuild my seawall in Brevard County that took major damage from Hurricane Mattherw in 2016. I found out that they applied for, but never pulled a building permit in the County. They were asked by environmental to put rock in front of the wall, which they did, but apparently never got it inspected, nor got and exemption or permit from the state for putting the rock into state waterways. They left indicating that all was done, even supplying the permit number. They were licensed in Florida but apparently not in Brevard County, although I did not know this. The permit that was applied for expired after 180 days since there was no activity, and a year later code enforcement showed up saying I was in violation because I did not have a permit. It took months for me trying to work with them to see what I needed to do to fix the problem, and when they finally told me, it was 2 weeks before I had to go before the magistrate about it. I got fined, I have to get an after the fact permit from the state, I have to find a contractor in Brevard county to pull a new building permit to let the inspection by the county happen in order to simply indicate that there is rock there, and that there is either a state permit or an exemption. Trying to get in touch with the shady lying character is next to impossible. While the owner is listed differently than the guy who said he was the owner to me and did my work (Brian Hall), this guy is a big fraud that I will end up suing, after having to spend thousands to fix the paperwork mess he made, and causing me total emotional angst. Shame on Brevard County for allowing a Florida licensed, but not Brevard County licensed contractor to operate in the County and cause so much problems for so many people, I've heard of at least 15 others at this point. And shame on Brian Hall and Fortress Marine for being such horrible underhanded scammers. He was also illegally pooling resources from what I have learned. DO NOT HIRE THIS BUSINESS FOR ANY REASON IF YOU DON'T WANT TO DEAL WITH A NIGHTMARE. He and his business use various names besides just Fortress Marine, so be very careful to investigate when hiring your marine contractor.

    Build a dock after hurricane

We hired Fortress Marine construction Marine to build a dock after Hurricane Matthew. They took $23000 in deposit, never got a building permit, tore down the old dock with amateurs who made a mess and left a trash bend in our front yard for 4 months. They only removed after we complained constantly. They completed or built anything and after 9 months have received only a partial refund. Do not hire this company.
