No way, not at all. I filed a claim against Yancy Garcia of GG Construction due to the poor quality of his work on my kitchen remodel. He improperly installed a cabinet above my fridge, making it impossible to open. Additionally, two of my cabinets have screws protruding from the inside, and he mistakenly installed shelves in my pantry cabinet the wrong way. He was supposed to change the kitchen lighting and install can lights but ended up painting part of the ceiling with glossy paint instead of matching the existing flat paint. Plus, he installed a garbage disposal that doesn’t work and removed the GFCI switch without replacing it. When I pointed out these errors, his response was, "If you want us to fix anything, we can offer those services at a fixed rate." I replied, "Why should I have to pay you to fix your mistakes?" Each time I tried to resolve the issues, he would respond the same way, claiming I was being unreasonable. I then got an estimate from a professional, which was between $450 and $600 depending on the garbage disposal issue. The Board relayed to him my estimate and he stubbornly offered me only $400. He rewired my kitchen lighting, removed the GFCI switch, and kept insisting he didn’t do electrical work. For these reasons, I would strongly advise against hiring Yancy Garcia and GG Construction. There are contractors with integrity who take pride in their work, but unfortunately, Mr. Garcia is not one of them.
