This guy is a crook! I contracted with Lowe’s in April 2021 for a complete kitchen remodel, at the time I signed the contract, Lowe’s Designer explained they do not do the electrical work, but the contractor they would be sending out, Scott MacDonald, Harvest Construction, was fully qualified, did good work, and I could contract the electrical work directly through him, outside my Lowe’s contract. Lowe’s required full payment at the time I signed my contract with them.
Scott MacDonald confirmed he would do the electrical work for approximately 5k dollars. He sub-contracted the electrical work to Neale Boyea, NB electric, LLC. “because his regular electricians were not available.” NB completed the majority of electrical work in September 2021. There were some delays on the project due to a cabinet with cracks that needed to be replaced. On 5 October 2021 I received a call from Scott MacDonald stating he “didn’t want to keep Neale hanging” and requested I pay him for the electrical work, so he in turn could pay Neale. After explaining I was getting ready to leave on vacation, Scott again explained it wasn’t right to keep Neale waiting, and requested I leave the check on my back patio for him. I didn’t want to make Neale wait for something out of his control, so I complied with Scott’s request, wrote a check for 4,850.00, placed it in a towel cabinet by my pool for him to retrieve the following morning, my check was cashed by Harvest Construction on 7 October 2021.
Approximately 20 November I received a call from Neale Boyea, NB Electric stating he billed Harvest Construction for his services on 15 September, for payment due by 18 October 2021, but had not been paid. I told Neale I paid Scott of Harvest Construction 4,850.00, in October, for the electrical work. By this time the replacement cabinet had arrived, contacting Scott MacDonald was becoming difficult, so I had to get Lowe’s Installation services involved to get Scott out to complete the work under my Lowes contract.
After talking with Lowe’s Installation services management, I then received a call from Scott indicating his guys would be out the following day to complete the work under my Lowe’s contract. I brought up the topic of the unpaid electrician, Scott immediately said he wasn’t calling for that, I insisted we talk about it or I was calling Lowe’s again. Scott attempted to justify his action by stating Neale’s worker didn’t do a good job, and spent more time on the phone than working. I admit, Neale’s employee was spending more time on the phone than working, but unlike Scott, Neale was honest, he released the worker in question, and corrected/completed all the work his employee started. I have far greater respect for Neale correcting a wrong, than I do for Scott stealing almost 5k dollars and attempting to justify his actions.
On, or about 29 November 2021 a demand for payment was sent to Scott MacDonald, on my behalf by Carol E. Chloupek, Esq. of DSK Law Group. A Final Notice was sent to Scott on, or about 18 January 2022 via registered mail. Per USPS tracking it was delivered 9:57 am on 22 January 2022; Scott has failed to respond. Based on Scott’s call of 5 October, he deliberately defrauded me of 4,850.00 and Neale Boyea, NB Electric, LLC of 3,090.00. This behavior on the part of Scott MacDonald is morally corrupt and criminal.
The fact Lowe’s Designer gave Scott MacDonald a good recommendation, I contracted the electrical work with him without reservation. The fact Scott and his employees his employees wear shirts with the Lowes logo on the front gave him a level of credibility that resulted in my trusting him, and paying the requested amount for electrical work in full. I want Scott to refund the 4850.00, so I can ensure NB electric, LLC is paid in full for their service. I certainly hope Lowe’s discontinues contracting the services of Harvest Construction before they defraud other Lowe’s customers.

I contracted with Harvest Construction through Lowe's for a cabinet install. From the first encounter with him to measure my kitchen to the final piece of cabinetry placed was extremely pleasant. He did the work exactly how he said he would and even moved my install up when he had an opening. I would recommend Harvest to anyone.
