  Working with Hugo Tomas for our kitchen remodel has been a nightmare experience sadly. He over promised and under delivered the entire project. He originally said the project would take 6-8 weeks and he quit on week 14 without any of the appliances being fully installed. I want to be clear that there were no additions that contributed to the delay. The cabinets arrived around week 10 and were not installed for 2 weeks. He was completely out of his depth. His work lacks serious quality, integrity, and timeliness. We are now left 3 months in with having to find a new contractor to get our appliances up and running, including plumbing and gas line. Not to mention, the complete and utter destruction across our house. He has also messed up our plumbing to where the house smells like sewage! The refrigerator won’t fit into the opening he built for it and needs to be made 1/2” wider. The hardwood floor job is terrible and needs redone, with several screw holes and a hair in it. He also failed to fix the stucco on the exterior of the house. His hvac specialist came and broke our radiator cover. The ceiling in the basement is broken. I could keep going on… He doesn’t have a skilled crew, only 1 decent man that he barks orders at over the phone. And some rotating people. He was rarely on site. Complete gross negligence and incompetence.

  Our experience working with Hugo Tomas on our kitchen renovation has unfortunately been a negative one. While we thought that the start was promising, in the end the project went far beyond any of the dates he himself said we would be finished by. What we were told was going to be a roughly 6 - 8 week project turned into 16 weeks. To be clear, we had no delays on materials, cabinets or appliances, and we didn't have any change orders that would have substantially affected the timeline to double it. We were promised on multiple occasions that the project would be finished, "in two weeks" or "next week" but those timelines never came to fruition. Instead, each week would drag on into the next seemingly without an end in sight.

  Now we find ourselves in the process of spending a few thousand dollars correcting issues that weren't done right the first time like refinishing the floors, re-doing plumbing (including a gas line to our stove), and finishing the plaster work he left unfinished.
